The 2010 Michigan Audubon Annual Conference

May 13 - 15, 2010

The 2010 Annual Conference of Michigan Audubon will be held concurrently with the Tawas Point Birding Festival. Participants will enjoy some of the best birding in Michigan; Tawas Point is well known for high concentrations of migrating warblers during the month of May. Recent species highlights include: Kirtland’s Warbler, Cape May Warbler, Golden-winged Warbler, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, White-crowned Sparrow, numerous raptors, shorebirds, and more. Over 160 species were recorded during the festival weekend in 2008.

This year’s conference will compliment the world-class birding available in Michigan’s Iosco County (home of Tawas Point). Speakers will be presenting on a wide range of topics, from how to improve your recreational bird watching skills to important updates about bird conservation in Michigan. The conference is a great opportunity for birders to learn how they can contribute to greater protection for species like Kirtland’s Warbler, the Cerulean Warbler, Great Lakes Piping Plover, and all of Michigan’s threatened and endangered species.
