The Biggest Small Birding Festival in the US
Over 280 registered participants enjoyed four days of guided birding, workshops, seminars, and birder camaraderie during the 2013 Tawas Point Birding Festival. While this attendance figure was a record for the festival, we anticipate only a modest-sized increase in the number of birders seeking to experience the world-class birding in Iosco County. In fact, we like to call the Tawas Point Birding Festival the “biggest small birding festival” in the country.
What to expect at TPBF ’14
Birders who attend the 2014 festival can expect a bird count of close to 250 species. The festival features a comfortable balance of indoor and outdoor programs, allowing birders who wake before dawn to rest and continue learning from some of Michigan’s most knowledgeable conservation professionals. In addition, we added several successful new programs for the 2013 festival and we will continue these programs for 2014 to highlight “the sunrise side” of Michigan as one of the top spring birding destinations in the Midwest.
