Where Are We?
For birders approaching from the south, East Tawas is located in northeastern Michigan on US-23. From Interstate I-75 take the Standish exit and proceed north on US-23 about 40 miles.
As you drive through Tawas City and East Tawas going north, you will pass two traffic lights. The Tawas Bay Beach Resort is two blocks north of the second light. This is where the Festival is headquartered.
For birders coming from the west, take highway M-55 to its end at Tawas Bay and turn left on US-23. Go north through one traffic light to the Tawas Bay Beach Resort.
Birders joining us from the north should go south on US-23 and look to the east to find Tawas Bay Beach Resort just after entering East Tawas.
